9 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. | Registration at Park HQ and Check In with TOF Lead Ranger at their Site Meet your TOF rangers for the weekend and get an assigned campsite. |
9:30 a.m. - Noon | Unit I: Welcome to Texas Outdoor Family. Credible Campers & Campsites Rangers rotate one-on-one with campers to talk about Leave No Trace principles, how to pitch your tent, how to use stoves safely, and other camping tips. Family free time and camp setup on own. |
Noon - 1 p.m. | Lunch Picnic lunch at camp, preferably a “no cook” meal, on your own. |
1 p.m. - 4 p.m. | Unit II: Outdoor Activity and Family Free Time Exploring the park through planned activities and free time. Rangers rotate one-on-one with campers for activity participation. |
4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. | Unit III: Fire Building and Outdoor Cooking Q & A A ranger conversation about safely building fires and campsite cooking. Rangers rotate one-on-one with campers. |
5:30 p.m. - Dusk | Cooking Prep, Good Eating and Clean Up Family cookout and clean up, on your own. |
Dusk | Unit IV: Evening Activity An evening activity that is fun for the whole family. |
10 p.m. – 6 a.m. | Quiet Hours Please respect your neighbors by allowing them a peaceful night’s sleep. |

Morning | Awake Bright and Early – Breakfast and Tent Cleaning |
9 a.m. | Unit V: Know Before You Go … Breaking camp and leaving no trace of your stay. Rangers rotate one-on-one with campers. |
11 a.m. | Return Gear Please return your clean and dry gear to your on-site ranger. |
11 a.m. - 10 p.m. | Explore the Park The TOF experience might be over, but you are free to explore the park and enjoy all it has to offer until the close of business! |
