Jackie Wayne Kohleffel – Obituary and Assessment Call

Jack W. Kohleffel

Jack W. Kohleffel was born September 25, 1947, to Leo and Doris Kohleffel in Eagle Lake, TX. He graduated from Columbus High School and continued his education at Wharton County Junior College and then Southwest Texas State University, where he met the love of his life, Roxanne Moore. Jack was drafted into the United States Army and served at Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he followed in the footsteps of his father, Leo, and joined the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Upon completion of his training at the Texas Game Warden Academy, he was commissioned as a Texas Game Warden and started his career in Coldspring, TX. He remained there for a year and a half until he transferred to his final duty station in Edna, TX, where he retired after 27 years of service to the people of Texas.

Jack and Roxanne raised four children that they are very proud of; Michael, John, Monica and Paul. After their retirement, Jack and Roxanne moved to Jack's family property in Colorado County. He enjoyed taking care of his cows, gardening, fixing up the land he cared for so deeply and spending as much time as he could with his wife, kids and grandchildren. Jack had many dear friends, and there was nothing he would not do for any of them. He was a loving and giving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Those that knew Jack, knew him well, and thought very highly of him.

Jack is preceded in death by his father, Leo, his brother, Bill Kohleffel, and his sister-in-law, Sharon Kohleffel. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Roxanne, his mother Doris Kohleffel, a sister Janet and her husband Billy, son Michael and wife Lorene, son John and wife Jennifer, daughter Monica and husband Bryan, son Paul and wife Jackie, along with nine grandchildren.

The family will have a private graveside burial at Miller Creek Cemetery. To honor Jack's life, contributions may be made in his name to the 100 Club of Houston, 5555 San Felipe St., Ste 1750, Houston, TX 77056 or St. Michael Catholic School, P.O. Box 36, Weimar, TX 78962.
