Jeff H. Marshall – Obituary and Assessment Call

YOAKUM - Jeff H. Marshall, age 82, of Houston and formerly of Cuero, passed away on Friday, Sept. 17, 2010. He was born in Edna on Dec. 14, 1927, to Ocy and Mattie Goode Marshall. He was a chief editor and chief forensics auditor in internal affairs for Texas Parks and Wildlife Department in Austin. He also served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Allen Marshall of Houston; daughter, Holly Long and husband Steve of Webster; grandchildren, Zachary Long, Brittany Long, and Matthew Long; sister, Marguerite Bowman of Dallas.

Preceded in death by: parents; son, Jeffrey Marshall; one sister and four brothers.

Family visitation will be from 12 noon on Monday till service time. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Seay officiating. Burial will be at Hebron Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Hebron Cemetery.

Jeff became a member of the Texas Game and Fish Commission Mutual Association, aka Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Mutual Association on June 7, 1956. He retained his membership up until his death on September 17, 2010.

A check in the amount of $5,160.00 was delivered to Barbara Marshall, wife of Jeff, on September 18, 2010.

An assessment in the amount of $16.00 will be necessary to bring the policy fund back into balance to have payments on hand for two members in case of death. Please make this payment by October 25, 2010.
