Joe Bailey Brower – Obituary and Assessment Call

Fort Worth, Texas – Joe Bailey Brower 90 died at James L. West Hospice Center surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 12th 2010.

Service: A memorial service will held at 10:00 am Wednesday am the 15th in the Thompson’s Harveson & Cole. Following the service there will be a graveside service at the cemetery in Eliasville, the town of his beloved family ranch.

Memorials: For those who wish to honor his memory, contributions may be made to the Ridglea Baptist Church Building Fund, 6037 Calmont, Fort Worth, TX 76116, or to the James L West Hospice Center at 1111 Summit Ave. in Ft Worth.

Mr. Brower was an avid fisherman, hunter and rancher, garnering many sportsmen of the year awards. He enjoyed the time he spent on his ranch with his children and grandchildren. He was born in the small east Texas town of Avery and moved to Ft Worth in 1963 where he continued his lifelong career with the Texas Parks and Wildlife as Regional director for 38 years until retirement in 1982. He is remembered for his great fish fries and bar-b-que and coaching Ridglea Roughneck football.

In 1953, he married Fannie Snow and they had a daughter and four sons.

Mr. Brower served in World War II in the US Army Air Forces. He proudly wore his service distinction throughout his life as member the US armed services having served in active duty in the South Pacific.

Survivors: Wife, Fannie Snow Brower; Sons, Robert Carlton Brower and wife, Lisa: Joe D Brower and wife, Ruth Ann; John Randolph Brower ; Bill Mack Baber and wife, Becky ; Charlotte Kay Baker, daughter, and husband, Brandon, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and a sister Dimple Boyd of Carlsbad, New Mexico.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Mutual Association (TPWD Mutual Association) regrets to inform you of the death of another of our members, Joe Bailey Brower .

Joe became a member of the Texas Game and Fish Mutual Association on August 17, 1956 (54 years ago). He retained his membership up until his death on Sunday, September 12, 2010.

Additional information on Mr. Brower is on the reverse side of this assessment letter.

A check in the amount of $5,145.00 will be delivered to Fannie, Joe's wife, on September 15, 2010.

An assessment in the amount of $16.00 will be necessary to bring the policy fund back into balance to have payments on hand for two members in case of death. Please make this payment by October 19, 2010.
