Covering more than 9 million acres, the Greater Big Bend International Dark Sky Reserve is currently the largest dark sky reserve and protected dark sky area in the world. Big Bend Ranch State Park encompasses 318,000 acres of this reserve. Join a ranger to learn about the park's efforts to preserve our dark skies and discover how you can help reduce light pollution at home.
When: Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM.
Where: Barton Warnock Visitor Center.
Cost: This event is free with park admission; $5 per person 13 and older. Park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass.
