Intro to Birding (Birding Month)

Learn the birding basics with a park ranger during Birding Month!
Accessibility: Parking will be available near Boat House and surrounding areas. Restroom is available at Boat House. Drinking water is available nearby and bottled water is available for purchase inside the park store. Path consists of pavement and mowed grass with possibly a few steps and slopes. May go into moderate terrain hiking trail with trip hazards to look for woodland birds.
Program Expectations: Program will consist of learning how to use binoculars, identify common bird species, and how to "bird". Participants will go on a short hike with frequent stops to look and listen for birds. Please bring your own binoculars!

- Water
- Sun protection
- Binoculars (8x42 or greater recommended)
Program is included with park entry fees: $4 per person ages 13 and older, 12 and under are free. Programs are subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather. Dress for the weather!
