Paddling 101

Learn the basics of paddling and test your new skills on Little Pine Lake!
Accessibility: Parking will be available at Boat House and surrounding areas. Restroom is available at Boat House. Drinking water is available nearby or for purchase at the park store. Path to program is pavement and concrete sidewalk. Kayak/canoe launch is moderate terrain with unlevel ground, sand, and mud.

Program Expectations: THIS IS A BEGINNER PADDLING CLASS! Program will cover all the basics of paddling and safety instruction prior to getting on the water. After safety and presentation, one ranger will lead a guide around the Little Pine Lake to practice your new skills. Expect the possibility of getting wet so bring clothes and shoes you do not mind getting wet. Bring plenty of water and snacks to keep you hydrated and fueled.

Where: Kayak Launch/Boat House
What to bring:
- Kayak/Canoe/Paddle/Lifejacket/etc. (Optional)
- Water
- Sunscreen/Hat/Sunglasses
- Bug Spray
- Water shoes/boots
- Clothes you do not mind getting wet
Program is included with park entry fees: $4 per person ages 13 and older, 12 and under are free. Programs are subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather. Dress for the weather!
