First Day Hike (Self-Guided)

Start your New Year off right by going on a First Day Hike!
Accessibility: Parking will be available near our Day Use and surrounding areas. Restroom is available near park store. Drinking water is available nearby and bottled water is available for purchase inside the park store. Path to program is pavement, mowed grass, and steps. Trail consists of multiple trip hazards including rocks and tree roots. Ground is primitive with hilly surface.
Program Expectations: Start your New Year out right by taking a healthy step into nature! Hike 2.4 miles on the "moderate" difficulty Rustling Leaves trail OR 0.8 miles on the "challenging" difficulty Mountain View trail for the scenic overlook! There will be a table with maps, information, stickers, and a ranger for to answer questions stationed at the main trailhead.
When: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Where: Main Trailhead
What to bring:
- Water
- Sun protection
- Proper hiking attire/gear
Program is included with park entry fees: $4 per person ages 13 and older, 12 and under are free. Programs are subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather. Dress for the weather!
