Fire Building 101

Join a ranger to learn how to build a successful campfire.

Learn about the different structures and fuel sources used.  After a demonstration, participants will get to build a campfire.  We will light the structure if we are not in a burn ban at the time.  Enjoy some s’more treats afterwards to celebrate your fire building success.

Meet at: Amphitheater

Bring: Water. 

Note: Actual lighting of a wood campfire is subject to a burn ban status.  We will have a canister fuel stove available for roasting s’mores as an alternative.

Cost: Free with park admission. Park admission is free with a Texas Parks Pass.
