Fishing 101

Join a Ranger to learn the basics of fishing.  Learn how to tie on a hook, cast a line, and hear about common fish found in the Paluxy River. 

Want to continue to fish after the program?  Stop by our Head Quarters building and check out our Tackle Loaner Program.  You may fish at any Texas State Park without a fishing license.  State bag and length limits still apply.  

Meet at: Blue Hole

Time: 2-4 PM pending weather, come and go while equipment is available  

Please note: We recommend all children be supervised by an adult while fishing.

Bring: Water and sturdy shoes.  We will supply fishing poles, basic tackle and bait.  Supplies are limited.  Feel free to bring your own gear to fish with us. 

Cost: Free with your park admission. Park admission is free with a Texas Parks Pass.
