Learn the Basics of Fishing - Sea Center TX

Come learn the basics of fishing at this fun, FREE clinic!

This free class is designed to introduce participants ages 6 and up to the sport of fishing using fun, hands-on activities. Topics will include regulations and ethics; safety; rods, reels, and terminal tackle; two useful fishing knots; assembling a spin cast rod and reel; inshore salt water fish identification/habitat/handling/measuring; equipping your tackle box; casting instruction/practice; a tour of the fish hatchery; and, weather permitting, a chance to catch and release a fish at Sea Center Texas.

Please bring water, snacks and a lunch to eat on site. Expect to be outside about half the time and dress accordingly.

All educational materials and equipment and bait are provided. No fishing license is required.

Youth must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
