National Trails Day

8:30a to 10:30a
Sat, June 01, 2019
John Yochum
(956) 565-3919

Walk our trails any time today in celebration of National Trails Day, but on our first hike of the day, Park Rangers will point out wildlife, plant life, geological features, discuss area folklore and tell tales, suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Join with thousands of other people across the United States and Canada to celebrate and support hiking trails. Last year over 140,000 people gathered at 2000 sites (National Parks, State Parks, County or City Parks) to celebrate the great outdoors show their support for hiking trails. Gregory Miller, President of American Hiking Society, said, "Our nation's trails offer Americans from all walks of life boundless opportunities to enjoy nature, renew themselves, and establish a lifetime of fitness. ...we urge all Americans to support cooperative efforts to expand, sustain and preserve our trails and natural areas."

Our first walk will be a Ranger-led Nature Walk, 2 hours in length, slow and leisurely suited for all ages and fitness levels.

Join with us at Estero Llano State Park in support of our public trails and let your voice be heard. Free with Park Admission (adults $5, children 12-and-under free). Meet on Deck by Park Store.
