Celebrate the wonders of Galveston Bay during National Estuaries Week!
As coastal prairie grasses give way to vibrant marshlands, discover how this rich estuarine ecosystem supports an incredible variety of plant and animal life.
Join us for a hands-on experience exploring the bay's dynamic habitat. Learn how tides shape life at the water's edge and find out what it takes to be a true defender of the bay!
This hike has very little shade so hats and sunglasses are highly recommended. Plan ahead - wear close-toed shoes that you can get wet.Â
- Bring:Â Sunscreen, bug spray, water, weather appropriate clothing and close-toed shoes that can get wet.Â
- Meet:Â Nature Center, then drive to Lake Como kayak launch (number 1 on Trail Map)Â
- Cost: Entry fee is $5 for adults and FREE for children 12 & under. Park entry free with a State Parks Pass.
