CCC Camp - Building a Mission
The 1930's come to life as demonstrators set up camp just as they would if they'd been workers in the Civilian Conservation Corp.
Step back in time and see what a CCC-era campsite would've looked like at this two-day program! In the mid to late 1930's, men of the Civilian Conservation Corps worked together to create many of the buildings and trails still present in state parks today. For us today using these amenities, it's easy to wonder what life would have been like for those who have made such a lasting impact on the land. Demonstrators will be at their camp Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon. Come by and see their equipment, hear their stories, and imagine yourself in the 1930's!
Camp will be set up in the picnic area, past Headquarters and down into the parking lot on the right.
Program is free with park entrance ($4 per adult, free for children 12 and under).
