Homeschool Classes at the Park

Experience Guadalupe River State Park as an outdoor classroom in this program for school-age kids!
Guadalupe River State Park's homeschool program is a set of outdoor classes for homeschool kiddos grades K-5. Classes are usually held on the second full week of the month (September through May--excluding January), and you can choose between Wednesday at 10am, Thursday at 10am or Friday at 10am. We will cover a different topic every month, so don’t miss out!
Topics:
February- Introductory Fish Ecology and Fishing
March- Pollinators
April- Wildflowers
May- River Bugs (Benthic Macroinvertebrates)
Registration: Program is limited to 25 students. Register here.
*Registration will open on 01/15/2026.
Please register only if you are sure your child can attend. If your plans change, email aaron.o'neal@tpwd.texas.gov to cancel so that another child can have that spot. There is no waitlist. You will be dropped if no-shows occur.
Prepare: Dress for the weather and bring water
Meet: Guadalupe River State Park (Logistics will be emailed out on the Friday the week before classes)
Fees: None; entry fees will be waived under an educational waiver for the student and their parent or guardian
