- “The Big Sit! is an annual, international, noncompetitive birding event hosted by Bird Watcher's Digest and founded by the New Haven (Connecticut) Bird Club.”-Birdwatchers Digest Website Join with the LCCSP Sitting Ducks to learn about birds, migration, the park and a whole lot more. Bird with us for a few hours or stay all day. The gates will be open for you to join from 8am-7pm but if you would like to make a special arrangement to join the team starting at 5am and ending after dark, please call (325)728-3931 and ask for Superintendent Kyle O’Haver. For any additional information, please call the office at (325) 728-3931. There is no cost for the program however you will still need to pay daily entrance fees of $4 per adult and children 12 and under are free. If you have a valid Texas State Park Pass there is no charge.
