Nature Walk

See what nature calls Lost Maples home.

Join our nature walk as we explore the mile-long trail from the bird blind to the pond. The emphasis is on birds, but butterflies, dragonflies and plants will also be discussed.   The walk begins at 9 am and at birding speed, we usually reach the pond at noon.   Feel free to join us on the trail is you miss the 9 am start.    The walk is open to all park visitors and free with park admission.  

The walk leader has been involved with this walk at Lost Maples since 2012 and is knowledgeable not only about the local fauna and flora but with recording and identifying observations with the iNat mobile app. Hang around after the hike, or find us in our TPWD Volunteer t-shirt at the pond at noon. We are eager to help you get started with iNat and will give you all the help and time you need.
