Community Nature Challenge Bioblitz
Help the San Antonio Metro Area stay on top in a friendly challenge to catalog living creatures in our area!
Did you know the San Antonio Metro Area, which includes Bandera and 11 other nearby counties, came in 1st place in the US and 2nd in the entire world in the 2025 City Nature Challenge? Help us defend our title and learn more about the world around you by cataloging what you see on iNaturalist!
Join local birder Laura on April 26th at 10:00 a.m. at Headquarters to learn more and start cataloguing living things around you using the Seek and iNaturalist apps.
To participate, please have the Seek or iNaturalist app already installed on your phone. For iNaturalist, please also make sure that you have already created an account and are logged in on your phone before arriving. There is no cell service in the natural area, so you will not be able to download the apps or log in after you arrive. You can also bring your phone or a camera to take pictures and upload them to iNaturalist later. Make sure your phone or camera is charged!
All local observations made on iNaturalist from April 24-27 will automatically count towards the San Antonio Metro Area’s goal, so every observation you upload to iNaturalist will help!
Please do not bring any dogs except for service dogs.
