City Nature Challenge Bioblitz

9:00a to 12:00p

Ever wonder what types of plants and animals are right outside our front doors?

Volunteers will introduce you to iNat, a user-friendly mobile app that identifies plant and animals from photos you snap right on your phone. In a matter of minutes, you'll be ready to hit the trail and identify as many species as possible! There will also be a few short gatherings and hikes to try out your new skills while contributing to the largest collection of biodiversity data in the world. All observations made April 26-29th in the San Antonio 12-County Metro area (which includes Lost Maples and all of Bandera County) will count in the 2024 City Nature Challenge. Last year, our San Antonio area beat Austin for the first time. This year, you can help us win the entire Lone Star State!

Please download the free iNaturalist app prior to arrival. To find out more about the City Nature Challenge 2024 and how to download iNaturalist, visit: CNC-SA.org

Feel free to come and go at your own pace during the program time.

Program is free with park entrance.
