Fishing for Freedom

Spend the morning of July 4th fishing!

Meet a ranger at the Pond and start your day fishing! We will have a limited amount of basic fishing supplies, including fishing poles and bait available for free. If you have your own rod, bring it along and use some of our bait! Supplies are limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis. If all of our rods are busy, there may be a wait to use them.

Trail Information:

The Pond is a one-mile hike in from the overflow parking area (two-miles roundtrip to return to the parking lot). There are some shallow water crossings with stepping-stones, and the terrain is often rocky. The trail is wide with several shaded parts. There is no drinking water on the trail or at the Pond. Make sure you have plenty of water, comfortable hiking shoes and clothes, and sun protection for the walk to and from the Pond. The trail is not wheelchair, walker, stroller, or wagon accessible.
