Tree Talk

Ever wonder why the leaves change color before they fall from the trees?

Meet a ranger at our day-use area to learn more about the fascinating chemical changes that cause trees to change color in the fall!

When: November 11 at 11 a.m.  - Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get checked in at Headquarters and find parking before the program starts. We are very busy in the fall, so expect more traffic and longer wait times than usual.

Where: Day-use area. Look for our ranger’s sign!

Bring: Lots of water, sunscreen and a hat, and bug spray if desired. Dress for the weather!

Cost: This program is free with admission to the park. Day passes are $6 per person 13 and older. Park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass. Please make a day pass or camping reservation in advance, as we will likely sell out of day passes for weekdays and weekends during the fall.

Note: This program may be cancelled due to the weather. If cancelled, this posting will be updated. Please contact park staff for weather updates and more information.
