Come enjoy the Perseid meteor shower under Lost Maples’ beautiful dark skies!
Join a ranger for an evening under the stars to enjoy the Perseid meteor shower. The meteor shower is expected to start around this time and continue to build until it reaches its peak in the early morning. We’ll enjoy a dark night with very little light from the moon.
Consider parking in the day-use parking area and making the short walk to the overflow parking lot to reduce the amount of light in our viewing area.
Our park ranger will pack up around 10:30 p.m., but feel free to continue stargazing without us!
When: August 12 at 9:00 p.m.
Where: The overflow parking area
Bring: Please bring red flashlights only to this event! Bring water, snacks, and personal seating. Dress for the weather.
Cost: This program is free with admission to the park. Day passes are $6 per person 13 and older. Park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass.
