Springtime Hike

Explore the signs of spring on relaxing nature walk!

Walk with a ranger along the Maple Trail as we see what signs of spring we can find!

Meet at the restroom in the day-use area. Once everyone is ready, we will walk to the trailhead. On our hike, we will walk the Maple Trail at a slower pace to make sure we notice everything. We will make plenty of stops to look at insects, plants, birds, and more. At the end of the Maple Trail, we will turn around and follow the East Trail back to the day-use parking lot.

Round trip, we will walk just under a mile. The trail is rated easy, but there are some areas that include shallow water, steps/stairs, and rocky areas. Our walk will take about 1-1.5 hours depending on what we see. This trail is not recommended for a stroller or wagon.

Please wear comfortable hiking clothes, including good, closed-toe hiking shoes. Remember to wear sun protection. Please bring plenty of water with you; we recommend at least 32oz of water per hour.

When: March 7 at 9 a.m.

Where: Meet at the day-use area restroom.

Bring: Plenty of water and sun protection, like sunscreen and a hat. Wear comfortable clothes for hiking, including closed-toe shoes. Bring anything else you might need for your personal comfort.
