Campfire Stories

Gather 'round the campfire to hear adventurous tall tales and scary stories!
During this mysterious evening we'll cherish the golden glow as we huddle around the campfire.
When: 5-6pm. We'll tell riddles, tall tales, and "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark"
You are also invited to arrive early at 4:30pm and help the Ranger build the fire.
Where: Amphitheater **Please Note our park alert: Aug. 28, 2024 – The Walnut Ridge Unit bridge is down to one lane. Please proceed with caution. Check back for updates.** Location may change depending on bridge status. HQ will have same day up to date information.
Cost: This event is free with the purchase of a $4 day pass or a Texas State Park Pass.
Bring: Blankets, snacks, flashlight, insect repellent
Note: The closest restrooms are in the the 500's or 600's camping loops. There are no restrooms directly at the program site.
