Gather 'round the campfire to hear adventurous tall tales and scary stories!
During this mysterious evening we'll cherish the golden glow as we huddle around the campfire.
Discover how to host your own campfire gathering and learn all about fire safety.
First we'll hear tall tales of Pirate adventures.
Then, the night will get spookier as we hear the classic "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark".
When: 5:30-6:00pm Fire Building Techniques
6:00-6:30pm Pirate Tales
6:30-6:45pm Storytelling Break
6:45-7:15pm Scary Stories
7:15pm Campfire Safety (how to properly extinguish your campfire)
Where: Amphitheater (located next to the Group Hall/by the Walnut Ridge Boat Ramp)
Cost: This event is free with the purchase of a $4 day pass or a Texas State Park Pass.
Bring: Blankets, snacks, flashlight, insect repellent
Note: The closest restrooms are in the the 500's or 600's camping loops. There are no restrooms directly at the program site.
