Sunrise Hike

Experience the beauty of the rising sun and watch as the world wakes up.
The Observation Bridge is the perfect place to watch the sun greet the morning sky. The sunrise is projected for 7:05am on this day. We'll meet at the bridge about 30 minutes before sunrise to enjoy its beauty. Then, around 7:10am we'll begin our hike.
When: 6:30-8am
Where: Walnut Slough Day Use Area - we'll hike the Wildlife Trail (1.5 miles)
Bring: Sturdy shoes as the trails are natural and uneven in places; plenty of water; sunscreen; lots of questions!
Cost: This event is free with the purchase of a $4 Day Pass or a Texas State Park Pass.
Reminder: There are no restrooms near the trail head so plan accordingly. This program is weather dependent and may be canceled if conditions are unfavorable.
