Guided Hike

Join our Interpretive Ranger for a guided hike along the beautiful Island Trail

Meet up at the Walnut Slough Day Use Area. Hike along the Island Trail and learn about the native flora and fauna that call this area home. This guided hike will take about an hour and the trail is about 1 mile long.

When: 9am

Where: Walnut Slough Day Use Area located in the Walnut Ridge unit.

Bring: Sturdy shoes as the trails are natural and uneven in places; insect repellant; plenty of water; sunscreen; lots of questions!

Cost: This event is free with the purchase of a $4 day pass or a Texas State Park Pass.

Reminder: There are no restrooms near the trail head so plan accordingly. This program is weather dependent and may be canceled if conditions are unfavorable.
