Guided Kayak Trip and Hiking Trip

Join us for a fun-filled day of kayaking and hiking!
Reservations are not currently required to attend this program.
Whether you are an experienced kayaker or new to the hobby, come on out and join us for a fun-filled day of kayaking and hiking with Gerald, Keith, or Mark. Introductions and instructions will be given before each trip.
When: The kayak trip is 10 am -1pm The hiking trip starts at 2 pm. Come for one or both. The guides will not wait for stragglers.
Where: Walnut Slough Day-use Area located in the Walnut Ridge unit.
Bring: Water shoes, appropriate attire, plenty of water, your own kayak or rent one (first come, first served).
Cost: Guided trips are free, entrance to the park requires a $4 day pass or a Texas State Park Pass. Boat rental fees are not included with a Texas State Park Pass.
Reminder: Keep in mind that even though these are guided trips, you participate at your own risk. If your kayak tips over, you must be able to get back in by yourself. You can choose to stay with the group or peel off and do your own trip if you wish. If you cannot keep up with the group and fall behind, you can continue at your own pace or return to the launch point.
