Boost your naturalist skillset as we practice using the iNaturalist app - a tool to identify and catalog the natural world. iNaturalist helps scientists discover the up to date range of species, and discover patterns.

When: 8am
Where: Walnut Slough Day Use Area located in the Walnut Ridge unit.
Bring: Sturdy shoes as the trails are natural and uneven in places; plenty of water; sunscreen; lots of questions!
Bring a smartphone with the iNaturalist app already downloaded. Create an account before the program.
Cost: This event is free with the purchase of a $4 day pass or a Texas State Park Pass. Note - this program begins before the HQ office opens. Complete a self-pay permit or purchase your day pass online.
Reminder: There are no restrooms near the trail head so plan accordingly. This program is weather dependent and may be canceled if conditions are unfavorable.
