Nature Journal: Many Shades of a Leaf

There is beauty and inspiration all around us this time of year. Take autumn leaves as your muse and explore how to journal about one thing in many ways.

Leaves are an incredibly interesting subject to study. They are different shapes, sizes, and colors. As they all leaves show movement and grace. This month we’ll explore how to record the same object in many different ways and expand our journaling creativity. You can bring your own nature journal or use a piece of paper from us.

Participants of all ages are welcome to attend. This program is best suited for those who can sit and sketch for 10+ minutes at a time. This program may include indoor or outdoor activities.

When: 3pm

Where: Meet at the Education Center in the Walnut Ridge Unit

Bring: Your own nature journal, bag chair

Cost: Entrance to the park requires the purchase of a $4 day pass or a Texas State Park Pass. Children 12 and under are free.

Youth participants must be accompanied by an adult.
