Join a ranger and park volunteers for the unique experience of walking along the water's edge with only the light of the full moon as a guide.

The moonlit walk will be approximately one-mile round trip along sandy terrain, with stops to discuss the significance of our Moon, as well as reveal nocturnal shoreline life with ultraviolet light.

This is a public program intended for individuals or families, ages 10 and older. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. For nighttime safety we only allow service animals, no pets please. If you would like to bring a group for a program at Mustang Island State Park, please contact the park interpreter Benjamin Taylor.

Bring: Clothing that can get wet, drinking and rinse off water, an optional light source for safety, and comfortable footwear (close toe shoes recommended). Barefoot beach walking at night is not recommended.

Cost: Free with park admission and no sign up required. Park admission is $7 for everyone 13 years and older, and free for 12 and under. Self-pay stations are available at the park headquarters parking lot for payment after hours, or you can reserve your park entrance pass in advance online.

Meet: Arrive at Day Use parking lot, straight ahead from park entrance station, and be prepared to go no later than 9:00PM.

Note: This program is weather-dependent, and programs are subject to changes or cancellations. This event announcement will be updated to reflect any changes or cancellations made for specific dates of this program.
