Orientation begins at 10:00 AM at the amphitheater behind the Discovery Center at Guadalupe River State Park. Confirmed hunters need to be at Park no later than 9:15 AM, or they may lose their spot to a standby hunter. Standby hunt spots are not guaranteed, please be at the park entrance gate no later than 9:00 AM. The hunt ends at 30 minutes past sunset on the last hunt day. Hunters are taken to their assigned blind on the first morning of the hunt; hunters are responsible for getting to their assigned blind thereafter. White-tailed deer are the primary species inhabiting the area. Mule deer, feral hogs and exotics are very limited in number. Hunters and supervisors will be taken to assigned blinds by Forest Service and TPWD staff. Blinds are placed in a safe location and cannot be moved or repositioned. Walking in the unit area is strictly prohibited. A mandatory orientation will be held at noon on Friday. The hunt will begin immediately following the orientation. All hunters and supervisors must wear a minimum of 400 square inches of fluorescent orange material covering the chest and back and orange headwear. All harvested animals must be checked in no later than noon on Sunday.
