General Access

The D.R. Wintermann WMA is only accessible through private property therefore is not accessible on a daily basis. It is located 14 miles northwest of Wharton on the rice prairies. Habitat types are coastal grasslands with freshwater potholes. Two levees running through the property allow much of the WMA to be inundated.

Permits Required

Visitors 17 years of age or older must possess an Annual Public Hunting (APH) Permit or Limited Public Use (LPU) Permit.
