Rules for Pets at Fort Parker State Park
Pet Restrictions
Pets are allowed in many areas of the park, including campsites and trails. They must be on a leash, in a car, or in a crate at all times, and must not be left unattended. Read more state parks pet rules.
Pets are not allowed in the screened shelter, cabin or Group Barracks area or buildings at Fort Parker. They must remain at home if you are staying in these areas.
Pet “accidents” make cleaning unpleasant and sanitation difficult. Pets can also damage park facilities.
Service Animals
Only service animals may enter the screened shelter, cabin or Group Barracks area or buildings.
Service animals are defined as domestic animals that are trained to do work or perform specific tasks for people with disabilities.
Animals whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act and are not allowed in these areas and facilities.
