February 2021

lakefront area w/ fishing pierConstruction is about to begin here at Palo Pinto Mountains State Park! But what will this new park look like?

Located 75 miles west of Fort Worth, the site has rolling hills, a beautiful creek and a quiet lake surrounded by more than 4,800 acres of varied habitat that is home to a diverse array of wildlife. Stands of live oak, mesquite, cedar elm and native pecan shade the park.

Facilities

Development will cover about 200 acres. The buildings will be light on the land and blend in with the landscape.

The park will have a visitor center, pavilion, playscape, equestrian campground and camping loop. An accessible boat ramp and fishing pier will provide access to the park’s Tucker Lake. Backcountry trails will be open for exploration on foot, horseback, or mountain bike.
