Those of us living in large metropolitan areas often forget that relaxing outdoors in nature can be one of life's greatest pleasures. Fishing is a popular pastime which doesn't require a lot of travel, money or equipment, and is also a great way to enjoy the outdoors with your family and friends.

There are many public fishing spots located near the major metros of Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio. These public sites offer great fishing and most are no more than an hour's drive away. And the only equipment you really need is a rod and reel, some bait and a fishing license.
