BOATER ADVISORY: Zebra mussels have invaded this reservoir! CLEAN, DRAIN AND DRY your boat, trailer, livewells/bait buckets, and other gear before traveling to another water body. Draining water is required by law and possession and transport of zebra mussels is illegal.
All the shoreline around the lake is owned by the City of Austin. Bank angling is limited but available at Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park, public boat ramp. The park is day use only, with no overnight camping allowed.

Walter Long Metropolitan Park
- From US 183 in Austin, take FM 969 east to FM 973. Turn left and go approximately one mile. Turn left onto Decker Lake Road and travel approximately 2/3 mile. The road into the park will be on the right.
- 3-lane concrete boat ramp
- Park entry fee $5/vehicle Mon-Thurs; $8 weekends
- Open all year
