Meet Our Teams
Compensation, Classification and Recruitment
The Compensation, Classification & Recruitment team is responsible for assisting employees & managers with compensation, salary administration, proper classification, hiring practices, recruitment, internships, military employment preference, and veteran support.
Employee Relations and Special Leaves
The Employee Relations and Special Leaves team is responsible for assisting employees with understanding policies, finding solutions to problems that challenge the employer-employee relationships and guide employees through the special leave processes, to contribute to maintaining an employee valuing culture, meeting the needs of the employee and employer simultaneously.
Payroll
The Payroll team is responsible for executing all payroll actions for TPWD employees, including wage calculations, benefit and retirement deductions, tax withholdings, and special payments such as one-time bonuses, overtime, and lump-sums. We work to ensure every employee receives accurate and timely compensation.
Personnel & Benefits Services
The Personnel and Benefits Services team is responsible for assisting employees through the employee life cycle and ensure seamless coordination across key HR functions to include offer management, onboarding, insurance and benefits inquiries, retirement consultation, off-boarding as well as management of the Agency Wellness and Employee Recognition Award Programs.
Project Management
The HR Project Team leads division-wide initiatives, manages HR systems and data, ensures compliance and accessibility, and provides essential technical and operational support for the agency's human resources functions.
Training and Organizational Development
The HR Training and Organization and Development (TOD) Team supports agency initiatives by providing professional growth and development for all employees, making them the best professionals and people they can be.
Volunteer Engagement
The TPWD Volunteer Program establishes policies and procedures, ensures adherence to state and federal regulations, oversees the Volunteer Management System (VMS) and related data, and delivers training and support to volunteer coordinators and volunteers across the agency.
