Accessibility Information

The Smith Visitor Center is fully accessible with ADA parking in front, a ramp leading down into the building and accessible restrooms.

The all-terrain wheelchair at McKinney Falls SP

The park has a GRIT all-terrain wheelchair available during office hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily ) Email us or call (512) 243-1643 to reserve the chair for your visit.

Onion Creek Hike and Bike trail is an improved surface trail that parallels Onion Creek, before winding through the forest around the campground areas. This trail has a steep incline from the Visitor Center leading to the Upper Falls, before going through the day-use picnic area. None of the picnic sites are ADA accessible, but the ground is relatively smooth and flat in this area.

Access to the Homestead, Flint Rock, and Williamson Overlook Trails require creek crossing at the Lower Falls. When water levels are high, these trails may be closed.

The Dining Hall (group hall with a kitchen) has an ADA parking space and ramp into the building, but the path is uneven and may not work for some wheelchairs. The inside of the Group Hall has an open dining space, and a kitchen. There is a concrete sidewalk leading from the covered patio on the side of the building, to the restrooms in the back of the building.

Cabin 6 is wheelchair-accessible with an extended picnic table and paved pathways, all designed for use with a wheelchair.

Campsites located closest to the shower houses are sites 18, 19, 20 or 84. Campsites located closest to the restrooms are sites 39, 40, 36 or 72.

The Big Cedar Restrooms and Grapevine Restrooms each have an ADA parking space and accessible stalls.

Conditions can change quickly. Contact the park for more information and to ask about the status of particular accessible features.
