Sites are not on the beach, they are separated from the ocean by sand dunes and are about 400 yards from the water. These sites don't have fire rings; you can have a campfire on the beach, but not at the campsite. Cooking in the grills at the site is allowed.

Primitive Campsites (Drive-up)

These undesignated sites are on 1.5-mile stretch of beach. Sites are closed from time to time due to weather conditions; we suggest you call the park before your visit to check on beach conditions. You may have a small beach campfire in this area. Restrooms are 50 yards - 1.5 miles away from sites. A beach bathhouse with full restrooms is near headquarters. Swim at your own risk in the Gulf of Mexico, as there are no lifeguards.
