Utility Easement – Brown County
Muse Wildlife Management Area

I. Executive Summary: Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) has received a request from Zephyr Water Supply Corporation for a 20 x 2500 foot utility easement at the McGillivray and Leona McKie Muse Wildlife Management Area (Muse WMA).

II. Discussion: TPWD has been contacted by Jacob & Martin, Ltd. Consulting Engineers on behalf of the Zephyr Water Supply Corporation requesting a 20 x 2500 foot utility easement at the Muse WMA, which is located approximately 15 miles northeast of Brownwood in Brown County.

The Zephyr Water Supply Corporation has received a Rural Development Grant from the United States Department of Agriculture to design and build a water line that will supply treated water in and around the Owens, Community. This water line will also provide service to the Muse WMA.

III. Recommendation: The staff recommends the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission adopt the following motion:

"The Executive Director is authorized to take all necessary steps to grant a 20 x 2500 foot utility easement to the Zephyr Water Supply Corporation at the McGillivray and Leona McKie Muse Wildlife Management Area, Brown County, Texas."
