Tackle Loaner Program

Please check with the site to determine availability. 

You can borrow fishing equipment as easily as you borrow books at a library!

Borrow rods, reels and tackle boxes with hooks, sinkers and bobbers for up to 7 days.

1. Find a site near you. (Some sites loan individual rods and reels to use at their specific site. Other sites loan trunks of fishing equipment for larger groups to borrow and use anywhere.)
2. Fill out a borrower/survey form.
3. Go have fun fishing.
4. Return the loaner gear.

Some locations may require a deposit. Please ask the location about their specific policy.

Sites marked with (#) are known as especially busy sites. This means loaner gear may sometimes be fully checked out, or even in need of repair. Please call ahead to confirm.

If you are 17 or older, you need your fishing license, except if you fish within a state park (entry fees still apply).

If you are younger than 17, you need an adult to come with you to borrow tackle loaner gear.

Tackle Loaner Sites for Groups

Each kit comes with 10 fishing poles. Group kits must be reserved two weeks in advance and are not available for individual use.

(#) = Heavily-visited sites. Tackle is often all checked out or is unavailable due to damage from previous borrowers. Please call ahead to confirm.
