If you plan on fishing Lake Austin I would recommend fishing at night as fish will move up shallow. Lady bird lake water temperature is 83 degrees. Majority of the lake below the First Street bridge has a heavy stain to it. The grass has started to top out in many areas of the lake. Early morning is good for topwater bites. Frogs and spooks are working good. Later in the morning fish have been seeking deep grass. Dragging a worm around these areas is the ticket. Overall it’s fishing decent. Belton
SLOW. Water lightly stained; 78 degrees; 16.02 feet above pool. All public boat ramps are currently shut down due to flooding. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers typically only reopens the boat ramps once the water recedes off the asphalt parking lot and turnaround areas back onto the concrete boat ramps. Anticipate this to occur once the flood level reaches about 11.5 feet above full pool. After the asphalt is free of flood water, USACE typically waits several additional days to let the road base dry out. USACE is releasing about 5400 CFS resulting in a 3-4 inch drop per day. Walk-in access to bank fish or for kayak fishing is still permitted even in parks with gates locked as long as posted signage does not stipulate otherwise. Report by Bob Maindelle, Holding the Line Guide Service.
Benbrook
SLOW. Water stained; 74 degrees; 3.44 feet above pool. Water is murky but clearing. Crappie are good with live minnows. Yellow bass soft plastics in the shallows. Catfish with worms.

Bridgeport
GOOD. Water stained; 78 degrees; 9.07 feet below pool. Fishing patterns are consistent. The RAB Marina, WCP, the dam and all low water ramps are open. Catfish have been outstanding on shad and prepared baits. Running creeks should really hold the fish. In the main lake, look shallow around rocks. Crappie continue to be good around shoreline cover, brush piles and the U.S. 380 bridge. Minnows and jigs are producing well. Hybrids and sand bass are wandering the main lake structures. Chartreuse slabs will catch fish when they are under the boat. Try a topwater bait for early morning bass. As it warms up try flat billed crank bait across main lake points. Report by Keith Bunch, Lake Bridgeport Guide Service.

Striper fishing remains good using live shad as bait in the 15-35 feet of water range. Some limited topwater schools have been showing up but have not been staying up for long. White bass continue biting excellent vertical jigging spoons. We have had some very strong east winds that have dislodged some debris from the east side of the lake so beware of floating obstacles. Report by Travis Holland, TH Fishing. Crappie are slow while the lake is flooded. Catfish are good in 10 feet of water cut shad. Report by Jess Rotherham, Texas Crappie Fishing Service.
Caddo
FAIR. Water stained; 75 degrees; 2.75 feet above pool. The lake is flooded again, so Caddo is muddy, high with lots of current. This seems to be the theme heading into summer creating tough fishing conditions. The fish in the river may be tough for a few weeks until the water stabilizes, so try finding clear water on the main lake. Try a fluke or senko around the trees or grass and a frog, buzz bait, Pop-R and Choppo type bait should work around the grass if it is windy or cloudy. Navigate with caution and watch wake size. Even with the flooding the lake is still beautiful and always worth coming out to see this majestic lake that God spoke into existence. Report provided by Vince Richards, Caddo Lake Fishing & Fellowship.
Calaveras

EXCELLENT. Slightly stained; 76 degrees; 0.82 feet above pool. Hybrids and white bass start early in the morning at daylight and hit the dam or the western shorelines of the lake and look for schooling fish close to seawalls and shorelines. After that fish any hump in depths of 22-28 feet throughout the lake to find fish stacked up in schools. Use spinnerbaits like a mepps #4 spinner or drop a slab down to the bottom and work it fast up and down and the fish will hit it immediately. Also throwing out a slab and reeling it back with a slow retrieve is also working well. The evening bite from 5-8 p.m. has also been very good. Hit up seawalls close to points in depths of 7-12 feet and cast rattle traps, spoons or sassy shads to get the Hybrids to bite. The crappie bite has been getting increasingly better. Look for them under bridge pylons or under docks where the depths are between 3-10 feet. Quick limits are being reported. Guides have been reporting exceptionally nice catches on sunny warmer days. We have been seeing lots of small white crappie on brush piles but some bigger keepers showed up the last few days. These will continue to get better and better over the next few weeks. Focus on brush piles in 14-22 feet for the best fish. Some summer time trees are also holding white crappie and that will also get better over the next few weeks. Minnows are working well and small hand tied jigs in neutral colors are working just as well when you pitch and swim them over fish. Soft plastics will also get you a bite. USACE is releasing about 1900 CFS resulting in a 3-4 inch drop per day.
