Accessibility Facilities

Birch Creek

Headquarters

Headquarters has designated parking with sidewalk access and spacious open-air restrooms with toilet grab bars.

Day-use Area

Several pavilions have designated parking and sidewalks to the covered facilities. These facilities require reservations. The restroom in this area has some accessible features, including fold-down shower seats and grab bars for toilets and showers.

Seven picnic sites have designated parking, a paved sidewalk to and around the picnic table, and a raised grill.

Campsites

Birch Creek has eight water and electric campsites with accessible features, including sidewalks from parking and around the sites, and raised grills. Several sites are close to restrooms with some accessible features, like fold-down shower seats and bars for the toilets and showers. However, the restrooms are small and navigation will be difficult for large wheelchairs.

Two of the equestrian campsites with water have some accessible features.

Group Hall

The group hall has designated accessible parking, sidewalks throughout the facility, raised grills and a few raised fire pits. A sidewalk leads down to a picnic table with a view of the lake.

Bathrooms are small and not accessible.

This hall is surrounded by paved campsites with paved access to the group hall. There are 14 RV sites with water and electric hookups. The six sites with water only are not paved throughout.

Trails

The .4-mile Honeybee Hill Trail is level with compacted gravel and dirt surface that might work for some wheelchairs and scooters. The beginning of the Trailway has similar conditions.

Nails Creek

Nails Creek Unit’s headquarters and restroom and the restroom in the Cedar Creek Camping area have some accessible features.
