Land Donation – Galveston County
Galveston Island State Park

I.       Executive Summary:  Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) has been offered a donation of approximately 47-acres of land in Galveston County.

II.            Discussion:  TPWD has been offered a donation of an approximate 47-acre tract of land (Tract) located along 13 Mile Road just north of FM 3005, the Tract being adjacent to Galveston Island State Park.

The Tract is a mitigation tract that can be used by TPWD for hiking trails, wildlife viewing and wetlands restoration.

III.     Recommendation:  The staff recommends the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission adopt the following motion:

"The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission authorizes the Executive Director to take all necessary steps to accept the donation of a 47-acre tract of land as an addition to Galveston Island State Park.”
