Request Texas Parks & Wildlife Department Participation at Your Event

Thank you for your interest in partnering with the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD).  We support community events that promote outdoor recreation, conservation, and public engagement across Texas.

Due to the high volume of requests we receive each year, TPWD has established the following process to ensure we can effectively review and support events that align with our mission and available resources.

Advance Notice Requirement

• Single-day events: Contact a regional representative 3–6 months in advance.
• Multi-day events: Submit 4–12 months in advance via the online Event Request Form.

This lead time allows our team to:

• Review the request and determine alignment with TPWD programs
• Avoid scheduling conflicts with existing statewide commitments
• Coordinate staffing, volunteer support, and equipment logistics, including staff traveling from multiple regions
• Engage the appropriate TPWD divisions or program areas

How to Submit a Request

Single-day events (local outreach initiatives)

Contact the regional representative for your program of interest to discuss availability and scheduling. See the Programs list and use the hyperlinks for regional contact information.

Multi-day events (statewide outreach initiatives)

Complete the Event Request Form. These requests are regularly reviewed by our team. If approved, a TPWD representative will contact you to coordinate logistics, staffing, and program details.

Please be prepared to provide the following information:

• Event name, purpose, date, and location
• Estimated attendance
• Target audience
• Type of support requested (e.g., booth setup, program activities [shooting sports, fishing, boating, camping, heritage, career/volunteer recruitment, interactive trailer, or educational presentation)
• Event schedule and setup details
• Organization contact information

Review Process

• Multi-day requests are evaluated for mission alignment, audience reach, and resource availability.
• Submission does not guarantee participation.
• Host requirements for consideration:
  • Provide FREE event registration, FREE parking, and FREE entry for all TPWD staff and volunteers working at the event.
  • Priority may go to events that:
    • Promote conservation and outdoor recreation
    • Reach new or underserved audiences
    • Offering strong community engagement opportunities

Next Steps

• If your request is approved, a TPWD representative will contact you to coordinate logistics, staffing, and program details.
• If we are unable to participate, you will receive a notification email stating the request is denied. No further follow-up is needed unless your event details significantly change. We may include alternative recommendations (e.g., local TPWD offices, partners, or volunteers).
