Headquarters Closures

South Sulphur headquarters will be closed on the following dates:

• Dec. 24 - beginning at noon
• Dec. 25
• Jan. 12 & 13
• Jan. 22

For on-site help during these times, please call the office number and use the after-hours extension (903-945-5256, x236).

If you will arrive when the office is closed, please pay fees online or use the self-pay station near headquarters. 

Low Lake Level

Sept. 11, 2025 - The Honey Creek boat ramp at the South Sulphur unit is closed due to the low lake level. The boat ramps at South Sulphur in Gulls Bluff, Tira Satellite boat ramp, and Doctors Creek at Lone Pine remain open.

Facility Closures

Aug. 1, 2025 - The Sunset Cove Day-use Area is closed through February 2026. Construction will be underway on a replacement fishing pier and other upgrades.

May 10, 2024 - The floating dock in the Heron Harbor Day-use Area at the South Sulphur Unit is closed due to damage. Fishing access from the wall is still open.

Park Closures

Both units of the park will be closed for wildlife management activities from noon on Jan. 2 to noon on Jan. 5, 2026. 

Only hunters with drawn permits will be allowed in these areas during closures. 

Trail Alert

Trails close to horseback riders after rainfall. Check conditions before you come by calling the park.
