Accessibility Information

We have accessible restrooms, parking and some facilities. We also have a GRIT Freedom Chair, designed to help those with mobility issues access trails.

Headquarters has paved access and one designated parking space.

Grit Chair

Person using a GRIT chairThe easy-to-push, lever-driven wheelchair comes with rugged mountain bike wheels; a big, sturdy front wheel that doesn’t get stuck; and optional trail handles, allowing you to choose your adventure. It is lightweight and easy to maneuver.

Reserve it ahead of time by emailing the park or calling the park at (254) 897-4588. You can also borrow it on the day of your visit, if it’s available.

Trails

Some portions of the Paluxy River Trail are paved. A 0.25-mile paved trail connects the Main Track Site Parking Lot to the Lanham Mills Campground, where the trail continues on the paved roadway for another 0.25 miles. Other areas of the trail are rougher and unpaved, but the GRIT chair can traverse it.

We do not advise using the GRIT Chair on the trails across the river. Many areas have steep rock steps.

Tracks

All dinosaur tracks are in the river, in the water. Most areas of the river are difficult to access due to steep slopes or stairs.

You will be able to see tracks from the Blue Hole Overlook using the GRIT chair. However, the weather affects trail status and track visibility, so please check our webpage or social media before your visit.

Replica dinosaur tracks are at headquarters at the end of the parking lot and inside the Interpretive Center. Both are easily accessible.

Dinosaur Attractions

The dinosaur models and the Dino-Store are wheelchair-accessible.

Email the park to discuss accessibility information or to request accommodations for programs.
