Jerry Hamon

Presentation: A Year in My Life: a man, a kayak, and a fly rod
Conservation Center Room B, 1:00 p.m.

Jerry Hamon started fishing at age two and has fished coast to coast, but he prefers fly-fishing Texas fresh waters. He is involved in the Texas Council of Fly Fishers International, currently serving as its president. Active on the kayak fishing tournament trail, he took first place, big bass, and big panfish awards in the 2014 World Championship "Bass on the Fly" Tournament on Lake Fork.

Hamon has been a volunteer Angler Education instructor for Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and served on the agency's Freshwater Fisheries Advisory Committee. He started the Mariner Sails Kayak Fishing Club in 2013, and he spends time volunteering with Heroes on the Water (DFW Chapter), Casting for Recovery, and Reel Recovery Texas. Jerry and wife Patty love to travel all over Texas camping, kayaking, and fishing.
