David Lemke started fishing a Zebco 202 off the pier at his grandmother’s Wisconsin lakeside house and has fished Central and South America and all over the US. He came to Texas in the 1970s as a geoscientist. Fishing the upper Texas coast became an obsession. He picked up a fly rod in 1999 and put down his conventional rod.

David is a Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Instructor and runs the Texas Fly Fishing School in Houston. He is an active member of the FFF and Trout Unlimited, and serves as president and casting chairman of the Texas FlyFishers in Houston. He has presented clinics and workshops for the Gulf Coast Council Expo since its inception and is on the pro staff for Rajeff Sports, representing Echo rods and Airflo lines. He loves fishing for bass in Texas ponds, lakes, streams and bayous and has been fishing Northern New Mexico since the late '90s.
