Mark Marmon

Presentation: Basic Fly-Fishing, Care and Feeding of Your Equipment
Dive Theater, 9:45 a.m.

Mark Marmon has been fly-fishing for more than 40 years. He developed fly-guiding opportunities in and around Houston as well as on the Guadalupe River. Mark has fly-fished over most of the western United States, Caribbean, Iceland, and Mexico and is well informed by a network of colleagues in both fresh and salt water throughout Texas.

Mark promotes fly-fishing on both local and national levels. He is a past board member of the Texas Fly-Fishers Club, Houston, and past Vice-President of Fisheries for the Guadalupe River Chapter of Trout Unlimited. He is a Certified Casting Instructor and member of the Guides’ Association within Fly Fishers International and served on the Board of the Gulf Coast FFF Council. He fishes both single and double-handed rods and has achieved one International Game Fishing Association World Record and nine Texas State Fly-Fishing/Water Body records. Mark gives presentations on fly-fishing, casting and fly-tying to any organization requesting assistance. He believes that if one new flyfisher can be introduced to the sport, that person will be another conservation-minded individual on the water.
